The Village of Kenmore, NY, is located in northwest Erie County, within the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. It’s part of the town of Tonawanda, and together the area is often called “Ken-Ton.” Kenmore itself covers a land area of 1.4 square miles, home to a population of just over 15,000 people.
Known as “Buffalo’s First Suburb,” the Village of Kenmore was incorporated in 1899. Louis Eberhardt had purchased farmland and subdivided it, earning him the title “The Father of Kenmore”, though he did not name the village after himself. The Eberhardt Mansion stands to this day, listed in 1983 on the National Register of Historic Places. Kenmore has been named “One of the Top 10 Great Neighborhoods” in the U.S., as well as the highest-rated community in Western New York.
